Google Maps & Google Local Search ~ Baltimore

Using Google Places to Grow

GOOGLE MAPS & LOCAL SEARCH

Google Maps (formerly Google Local) is a web mapping service application and technology provided by Google, free (for non-commercial use), that powers many map-based services, including the Google Maps website.

You’re familiar with Google Maps. Type an address and see the map, or switch to a satellite photo. At this point, the user can just type in “restaurants” and Google Maps will show a list of restaurants in Baltimore. Or, the user would have began by typing in “italian restaurants baltimore md” or something similar.

Google shows a mix of paid ads and local business listings from Google Places. The ads come from Google AdWords, Google’s pay-per-click advertising platform, which allows businesses a way to target ads to specific geographic regions and geographic-based searches.

Our Google Maps Marketing set-up fee includes:
  • 1.) Make sure your business is listed correctly by using Google Places.
  • 2.) Build out your listing with as much information and SEO friendly content as possible.
  • 3.) Complete your business profiles with photos, videos, and business contact information.
  • 4.) Create a Google AdWords account and create an ad campaign targeted specifically to your local area.
  • NOTE: This will allow your ad to appear when people in your geographic area are using Google; it won’t show up when someone across the country does a search for italian restaurants.
